Key Features
- Dual Test Modes (Air Mode & Smoke Mode)
- Air Mode: Diagnose leaks using the pressure gauge without requiring smoke. The integrated flow meter, adjustable from levels 1 to 6, ensures precise detection of even tiny leaks (up to 0.25 mm).
- Smoke Mode: Produces smoke within 10 seconds to help identify the exact location of leaks once they are detected.
- Visual Flow Meter & Adjustable Knob
- Smoke Output Flow: 0-6 L/min.
- Level Gauge & Adjustable Knob: Easily observe and control smoke production.
- Quick Leak Diagnosis via Pressure Display
- No Leak: The pressure gauge value remains stable, indicating a sealed system.
- Small Leak: A slight drop in pressure suggests a minor leak.
- Serious Leak: The pressure gauge dropping to zero signifies a significant leak requiring immediate attention.
- Built-in Air Pump – No External Compressor Required
- The SDT205S features an internal air pump, eliminating the need for an external compressor. Simply connect to a DC 12V battery, and the device is ready to operate within seconds, saving both time and money.
- Overheat & Anti-Freeze Protection
- Overheat Protection: If the internal temperature exceeds 75°C, the unit will automatically shut off to prevent damage. After 10 minutes of continuous use, it enters a cooldown period of over 5 minutes.
- Anti-Freeze Protection: Designed to function in temperatures as low as -20°C, ensuring reliable performance in various environments.
- Handy Drain Outlet
- Prevents residual oil from corroding internal components by allowing easy drainage of leftover test oil. Recovered oil can be reused, reducing waste and operational costs.
- Independent Switch Control Design
- Air Mode Button: Controls the air pump independently, adapt smoke grade to locate the small and hard to find leaks.
- Smoke Mode Button: Activates the smoke generator separately to pinpoint leaks visually.
- 3-Year Warranty
- AUTOOL offers a 3-year warranty covering non-human factor damages.
Comprehensive Leak Tests Performed by AUTOOL SDT205S
- Crankcase System Test
- Excessive pressure or corrosion of the crankcase is the main reason for seal damage and oil leakage.
- Intake System Test
- Leakage in the air intake system leads to insufficient intake, resulting in reduced engine power.
- Car Sealing Test
- Poor airtightness can cause discomfort, inability to keep warm, dust infiltration, and lack of soundproofing and waterproofing.
- Fuel Tank System Test
- Gaps in the fuel tank and piping caused by improper installation or insufficient sealing of the fuel tank cap can cause leaks.
- Turbo Test
- Coolant leakage can cause the engine to report high water temperature.
- Various Pipe Fittings Test
- Smoke testing of brake hoses, power steering hoses, cooling system hoses, air conditioning system hoses, turbocharger hoses, fuel hoses, intake and exhaust system hoses, etc.
- EVAP System Test
- Leakage of the fuel evaporation system can cause fuel vapor to leak into the atmosphere, leading to waste, pollution, or unstable engine idling.
- Exhaust System Test
- Leaks in the exhaust system can cause harmful gases to be discharged into the atmosphere unpurified or increase vehicle noise.
Wide Range of Applications
- Compatible with various vehicles, including cars, motorcycles, snowmobiles, off-road vehicles, ATVs, light trucks, and speedboats.
- Ideal for testing EVAP Systems, Intake Systems, Exhaust Systems, Cooling Tanks, Fuel Tank Systems, EGR Systems, Crankcase Ventilation Systems, and Turbo & Low-Pressure Boost Systems.

How to Judge a Leak
- No Leak: When the value of the pressure gauge remains unchanged, it means that there is no leakage in the system.
- Small Leak: When the value of the pressure gauge drops, it indicates a small leak in the system.
- Massive Leak: When the value of the pressure gauge reaches zero, it indicates a large leak in the system.
How to Perform a Leak Detection
- Fill 10ml baby oil to the detector for the first time.
- Open the engine cover, and hang the detector in the cover.
- Disconnect the pipe that needs to be connected with the detector.
- Connect the detector with a DC12V battery, turn on the power switch, and the detector starts to work.
- Wait about 30 seconds for the pipe to be filled with smoke. Check the leak points. Please use a headlamp if necessary.
How to Do EVAP System Test
- Find the Carbon Canister on the Car
- Disconnect the fuel inlet/outlet tubing.
- Take out the special adapter for the EVAP system from the accessory box and connect it to the tubing you want to test.
- Prepare the System
- Remove the oil filler cap, add 10ml of test oil, and tighten the cap.
- Test for Leaks
- Turn on the power switch.
- Press the Air Mode button and then the Smoke Mode button.
- Block the smoke nozzle and watch the pressure gauge.
- When the pressure reaches 0.8kg/cm², connect the smoke nozzle with the special adapter for the EVAP system.
- Look for smoke escaping from the leak points in the EVAP system.
⚠ Attention: Ensure there are no open flames during the EVAP system test.
Important Usage Guidelines:
- When using for the first time, fill with 20ml oil. Do not exceed this amount.
- Testing Liquid: Both liquid paraffin and baby oil are acceptable.
- Add fresh oil only when smoke production decreases, and never exceed 20ml per refill.
- Before refilling, drain any remaining oil from the detector & replace oil regularly.
- Keep away from smoke-sensitive parts during leak detection.
- Do not run the detector continuously for over 8 minutes; allow it to rest intermittently.
- The detector has an intelligent protector and will automatically shut off if the temperature exceeds 75°C.
- The round part of the detector gets hot; avoid burns.
- If the test pipe must be disconnected mid-test, seal the other side with a rubber stopper.
